MAKING IT FAIR FOR CHILD WITNESSES
The Research Process
Stage One:
Live event and evidence gathering statements
As part of this research, children watched either a live event (during school assembly) or a video (presented on a laptop) of two people giving a talk about what school was like a long time ago.
Immediately after viewing the talk, the children were questioned about what they saw.
This enabled us to measure how much the children remembered.
It also allowed us to assess which aspects of the event the children deemed salient enough to report, and how well the children could provide a summary of the event.
